Then some of these tools might look familiar. This painting is based on my grandfathers box of tools. He was a wheelwrightcrafting carriages and ladders for local farmersand he also made the little wheelbarrow you see here. The mirror in the composition is a quiet self portrait. I used to play in the wood shavings of his workshop, which is
